Shirley Pointer
HR Director Department of Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform - DIUS
Shirley joined DIUS as HR Director at the time of its formation in July 2007. At that time she covered both DIUS and the Department for Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (formerly DTI). In January 2008 Shirley transferred to work in DIUS on a full time basis.
Shirley is a psychology graduate with 25 years experience in the HR profession. She has held roles in each of the main HR specialist areas of expertise as well as generalist HR Director level roles. She has experience of working in Engineering, Financial Services and Central Government. Prior to joining DTI in 2004 she was HR Director of the Abbey National Retail Bank.
Shirley's passion is to deliver organisation change through the business aligned HR strategies and has a reputation for delivering measurable organisation change.
Shirley is married with a son at university. Her passions outside work are music and Formula One motor racing.
