UK-China Fellowships for Excellence

The Fellowships for Excellence scheme is administered by the DIUS on behalf of the United Kingdom and the People's Republic of China Governments to encourage greater research collaboration between Chinese and UK institutions. The scheme enables UK post doctoral researchers from all disciplines to undertake research projects in China for up to 12 months and forms a central part of the newly launched Sino-UK Partners in Education programme.

Since its launch in 2007, 20 UK researchers have benefited from the Fellowships for Excellence scheme. The 2008 tranche of awards will provide funding for up to 20 new post doctoral Research Fellowships. In addition, a further 5 awards will be made available in 2008 for researchers in Sports Science in recognition of each country's hosting of the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012.

The closing date for applications is 4 July 2008.
